Confessions of a Gym-Obsessed Gal:Week 3 of the 1UP Challenge – Stronger, Softer, and Seriously Unstoppable

By Danielle | July 20, 2025 | Transformation Diaries

I couldn’t help but wonder… when does a fitness challenge transcend the mere checklist, transforming instead into a profound love letter to the woman you are boldly becoming? When does rest become the most radical form of strength, as vital as a perfectly tailored gown? When fiber becomes your new best friend, whispering sweet nothings of digestive harmony? And when the leg press dares you to level up, prompting a resounding ‘Yes!’ in the boldest, most confident voice imaginable?

Welcome to Week 3 of my 1 Up Nutrition Transformation Challenge. This week was equal parts raw intensity and profound intuition, a living testament that the glow-up isn’t just physical; it’s a seismic shift that’s mental, spiritual, and undeniably, gloriously sweaty.

If Week 1 was all nerves and newbie jitters, and Week 2 was about finding your rhythm, Week 3? Darling, Week 3 was about becoming truly unstoppable. Think less gym rat, more Vogue cover model, drenched in the glow of a triumphant workout, with a shaker bottle in one hand and a little magic in the other.

Day 1 – Recharge in Robes & Rest Like Royalty: A Couture Calamity

You know those days when the city hums and hustles around you, but your spirit whispers: not today, darling, not today?

That was Day 1. No workout. No guilt. Just silk robes, lemon water, and surrendering to the kind of rest that fuels a comeback. Because even the most fabulous among us needs a moment to recharge her inner runway model.

My newest 1 Up supplements arrived, a lineup that looked more like a high-fashion skincare drop than gym fuel. I was so inspired by their arrival, I made the rookie mistake of mixing everything in one shaker into one magic potion.

Spoiler alert: it was giving chaos! Not magical at all.

The Good: Motivation, unlocked.

The Bad: The flavor… unspeakable.

Lesson learned: Tomorrow, BCAA + Pure Rebuild = a perfect pair, like a classic Chanel suit.

Tri-Carb? She’s a solo act, think couture runway, not ensemble cast.

Rest was the assignment. And I aced it with the panache of a fashion editor on holiday. Now I’m super ready for Day 2.

Day 2 – Back Day, Beach Vibes & the Pulldown Power Pose

Back day arrived with a vengeance, and so did I, channeling my inner beach goddess with bronzed tones and sea-kissed determination that mirrored my turquoise activewear. My playlist? Pure escapism.

Pulldowns, rows, and a mental soundtrack that said: I am her. She is me. And we are fabulous.The best part? Finishing strong, then gliding home for a protein-packed quesadilla and the luxury of a post-shower exhale. Pure bliss, like slipping into the perfect little black dress after a long day of fittings.

I showed up with one mission: get as many reps as possible and record it all (shoutout to Marlon for the camera work!). The back and biceps workout had me pulling, curling, and supersetting like my gym card was a VIP pass to strength, and my best friends were gym bros.

The workout: Back/Biceps Superset,

* Seated Cable Row, Pulldown Machine

* Dumbbell Row, Cable Curl Triple Drop Sets.

Standout Moment: My pulldowns were chef’s kiss.

Work-in-Progress: Calorie tracking still feels like deciphering hieroglyphics. Still elusive, like texting a crush and getting nothing but emojis back and you trying to figure out with your own interpretation. A sartorial mystery, if you will.

So for now, I’m focusing on fiber and hydration, the style icons of nutrition.Because wellness, much like great style, is about the subtle details. It’s about building a wardrobe of nutrients for your body, one beautiful piece at a time.

Day 3 – Leg Day Breakthroughs & Goddess Energy Unleashed

The day after back day hit hard. Phone dead. Motivation flatlined. I passed out like I had just closed New York Fashion Week after three sleepless nights.

But then 4 AM hits. Awake. Alive. Electrified. It was almost… miraculous.

For the first time in this challenge, I completed every single set. From the formidable Hack Squats and Leg Press supersets that once intimidated me, to the relentless pace of the Bulgarian Split Squats and the power of the Barbell Squats with a punishing drop set, I conquered it all. And yes, I even embraced the 35 minutes of HIIT Cardio, feeling every beat of my newfound stamina.

Notable Quote: “Hack squat and leg press in a superset? I don’t have Hercules’ knees!” I thought. But baby, I crushed it! The best part, I felt no burnout. No dragging. Just pure fire. These supplements? They’re basically Asterix’s magic potion, bottled in sleek hot pink and white, infusing me with an almost mythical power.

Today’s motivation came from my posing class; visualizing myself moving with grace and strength under studio lights. Leg day became a spiritual experience. Hard, heavy, heroic.

Fitness Breakthrough: The goddess within doesn’t always arrive with fireworks. Sometimes she shows up as a quiet, relentless fire in your glutes, ready to conquer the world, one squat at a time.And yes, I sipped my BCAA like it was Veuve Clicquot. Cheers to growth, darling. Every drop.

Day 4 – Storm Mode Activated – Shoulders, Supersets & Streaming

I woke up sore, but strong. The kind of strong that makes you feel like you could hail a cab with one hand and conquer a boardroom with the other. Chest and shoulder day came with a goal: hit all four sets. And I did, darling.

Shoulder + Core Highlights:

* Dumbbell Lateral Raises (Triple Drop Sets!)

* Military Press + Front Barbell Laterals

* Planks, Crunches, Dips

* HIIT Cardio: 35 mins

Lateral raises became a full-on Storm cosplay moment. Arms up, eyes focused, channeling X-Men energy with every curl, imagining myself on a Vogue shoot, windswept and powerful.The abs? They’ll get their moment. Instead, I collapsed into the couch and binged Legacy. Because let’s be honest: even a superhero needs her screen time. Sometimes, the most important flex is the one where you curl up with a blanket and a good show.

Day 5 – Mermaid Meals, Better Balance & That Post-Leg-Day Glow

Balance: improving. Confidence: up. Wobbling through Bulgarian Split Squats? Less chaos, more choreography. It’s becoming less a struggle and more a graceful ballet of strength, a testament to how the body adapts, refines, and ultimately, thrives.The sun was shining. My legs were shaking. And I had Rambo on the brain.Today’s workout had me feeling like I was on a mission: weighted lunges, sumo squats, cable kickbacks and side kicks superset, hip thrusters with static hold and HIIT cardio. My core finally got its time to shine. I found my rhythm, like a seasoned dancer on the stage of life.

Post-workout ritual?

* Bouillon

* Bible study

* Nap like it’s my job

The Glow-Up Report:

* Meals leaned oceanic this week—tuna, shrimp, and salmon became my protein MVPs. My plate looked like a gourmet spread from a Hamptons summer party, brimming with lean, shimmering delights.

* But hydration and sleep? Ah, those two remain my most fashionably late friends—a perennial work in progress, much like perfecting the fit of a tricky vintage gown.

As the week wrapped, I felt gratitude wash over me. For the soreness, the victories, the supplements that work harder than my setting spray, and most of all, for the fire this challenge has lit in me to keep showing up. Because showing up, darling, is always in style.

Day 6 – The Ab Day That Wasn’t (And Why That’s Okay)

I had grand plans: a gentle active rest day, catching up on core. Like planning a spontaneous trip to Paris. But the body said no, thank you. So I listened.

Sometimes, the most radical act of self-love isn’t pushing harder, au contraire, it’s pressing pause. It’s knowing when to trade the burpees for bubble baths.

So I traded crunches for cuddles with my blanket and let “Legacy” be the soundtrack to my recovery. And honestly? It felt utterly luxurious.

Final Thoughts: The Symphony of Strength

This week reminded me that strength isn’t just about lifting heavier, it’s about feeling lighter, too. Lighter in spirit. Lighter in self-judgment. Lighter in expectations that no longer serve us. It’s about crafting a life that looks as good as it feels, from the inside out. Because, darling, your well-being is the ultimate couture.

Your Turn, my dear readers:

What unexpected revelations unfolded for you this week? Did you find unexpected strength, or perhaps, the profound wisdom in taking a much-needed pause?

Drop it in the comments. Whether you skipped a set, nailed a new move, or just hydrated like a queen… I want to hear it.

Until next time, rest hard, lift heavy, and never underestimate the power of a good bouillon.

Xoxo,

Danie Gets It Done
